Raised in North Little Rock, Arkansas, Barry has always been driven by a desire to create inclusive, thriving communities. In his various nonprofit leadership positions, Barry raised millions of dollars from government, foundation, corporate, and individual donors. These funds have fueled a variety of innovative causes and projects, from the first-ever strategic planning summit for the 80 U.S. Representatives in the Congressional Progressive Caucus to a circus enrichment program that serves over 200 children each week in the Tenderloin neighborhood. Barry and his family are active members in The Kitchen community, and he has one child in public school and another at Brandeis. When he’s not at the JCCSF, you’ll likely find Barry spending time with his wife, children, and feisty terrier named Babka—or belting out tunes at karaoke.
