Printmaking Workshop: Carving Toward Collective Change

Join us in the JCCSF art studio for a hands-on printmaking workshop inspired by our current gallery exhibition, One Nation, and the revolutionary vision of writer and activist Toni Cade Bambara, who reminds us that “the role of the artist is to make the revolution irresistible.” 

Together, with Bay Area artist and educator, Zoe Wagner, we’ll explore printmaking as a tool for resistance, storytelling and community connection. Participants will experience a guided tour through the One Nation exhibition and tap into key gallery themes to then learn, carve and print original work that speak to personal and collective visions for change – transforming ink and image into acts of solidarity and expression. 

No prior printmaking experience is needed. Just bring your voice, your vision and a readiness to roll up your sleeves and make your mark. All materials provided. 

Zoe Wagner is a printmaker and paper-mache artist in the San Francisco Bay Area, CA. Their work has focused on uplifting queer narratives, and bringing beauty and joy to social and environmental justice movements.
