Recognition of cardiovascular disease in women can be disproportionally delayed for a variety of reasons. This includes different risk factors and symptoms. Early identification is imperative to reducing risk and ensuring appropriate treatment. We’ll discuss the biases in medicine and ways to better identify, manage, and advocate for your heart health.  

Dr. Anjali Sharma is a general cardiologist at CPMC in San Francisco whose interests include preventative care, advocating for women’s health, and medical education
