A San Francisco native, Sophia started her career as you guessed it…. a camp counselor at the JCCSF! Her specialty is high quality equitable youth development through play and she enjoys creating programs and systems that support staff to serve their youth in a transformative and empowering way. Through her time with Playworks San Francisco, Sophia managed programs and provided play-based professional development at 18 SFUSD school sites and several other Bay Area school districts. After leaving Playworks, she served for three years as the Clubhouse Director for the Mission Clubhouse of Boys & Girls Clubs, leading a comprehensive after school and summer program through the COVID-19 pandemic. While not at work, Sophia enjoys staying active, baking and reading.
