Essential Self-Defense for Women
Presented by Alive and Kicking! Self Defense & Women's Safety Project
This class is designed to give women (ages 18 – 109) a wide range of strategies for dealing with situations that vary from mildly intrusive to life threatening. Each three-hour class will include full-force practice of physical techniques, interactive learning of assertive communication skills, and discussion of mental/emotional defense strategies. Other great things you will get out of class: The ability to get out of a choke or pin situation, the confidence to live your life freely without fearing violence, a wide variety of physical techniques to target an attacker's weaknesses with your strengths (and impress friends!), verbal skills for dealing with street harassment, co-workers, partners, family and friends and emotional strategies for living a safe, whole life.
